Weeping Willow – Chapter 2 (Hunger Games Fan Fiction

Well, I forgot, its Father’s Day, and I said it would be published today. It will have to wait till either Monday or Tuesday. But focusing on today, I finally finished my entire book, including the cover! Guess it’s good I couldn’t do it today (Sunday, June 15th)! Chapter 2 is a short chapter, adding on to the cliffhanger from Chapter 1, when Willow Tarris’s name was drawn out of the bowl. It is also quite short, only a couple pages. Although if you have not read chapter 1, I suggest doing so as soon as you have a chance!

Story!!!

Tristan’s eyes are wide open. This couldn’t be, Tristan thought. She was only put in their once! She just had to draw out her! Tristan watches her being dragged out of the town square by peacekeepers from the capitol. Effie Trinket doesn’t hesitate to say “Oh, a 12 year old, how special”!
Nobody thinks it’s special. Everyone in the town square (at least everyone in District 7), thought a 12 year old being drawn was a literal crime to humanity. Basically, it’s a death sentence for them.
Effie finally gives in, and decides to draw the name out of the boy’s container. She wriggles her hand in, going deeper and deeper into the bowl, finally reaching the bottom. Her sharp, purple nails can still be seen through the white paper. Is it some sort of capitol magic, or is it something from District 1, Tristan thought
“And the male tribute from District 7 is…”, says Effie Trinket
Before she could even say the name, Tristan immediately stood up in front of the others.
“I volunteer!”
