The Forest of legends

Before we begin, I would like to say that it will be available in The Pressroom, after some negotiations beforehand! Hope the results are good!

Anyways, we are finally entering the games in this chapter! I would say the first 2 chapters are the most boring, due to them being the introduction to the story. It gets more faced past as it goes on. But I don’t think I should spoil the story too much, should I? You will either most likely get a free copy at the pressroom (since you can’t sell fan fiction) or read it for free on our blog. Story!

As the tributes stand on their podiums, the clock ticks down. 20, 19, 18, Tristan shoots a worried look at Willow, afraid she will be one of the tributes killed in the bloodbath. After all, it’s where the most tributes usually get killed, Tristan thought.

17, 16, 15. District 12, the final district, rises to their podiums. “Surely they won’t make it far”, Tristan thought. He knew District 12 hardly ever wins, although that can’t be 100% true, as someone named Haymitch won two years prior.

14, 13, 12, 11, 10. The clock is ticking down faster now. Most of the tributes are trying to get a head start now, especially the careers.

9, 8, 7, 6, 5. One of the careers is looking cocky, and gives a smile to Tristan. Tristan sees this, and looks towards Willow.

4, 3, 2, 1 – The gong sounds
The games have begun.

Almost everyone immediately runs towards the Cornucopia, hoping to grab a backpack, or even better, some weapons. Tristan just wants to grab a backpack, then flee into the woods to help protect his sister.

However, many people are either pushed down by other people, hoping to get supplies, or are going to be killed by the careers. Tristan got pushed down, but got back up shortly after, and didn’t hesitate to go from there.

Luckily, Tristan gets a backpack just in time before Ares (the district 1 male tribute), could slash him. Instead, he goes for another boy instead. He uses an axe, the weapon he preformed best at in training.

Tristan sees Willow trying to grab a backpack, but almost gets killed by the girl from District 1. However, she picks herself up just in time to make a run for it into the woods. 

Meanwhile, the bloodbath continues.. The careers kill many. The girl from district 2 uses a bow to kill a tribute hiding in the cornucopia. Ares slashes multiple tributes with his axe, and a few others are taken out as well, for numerous reasons.

As the careers begin to grab weapons, such as a mace and arrows, Tristan heads into the woods, along with Willow and the male tribute from District 10. Before Tristan can reach Willow, though, the District 10 tribute tries to corner him, and manages to push him up against a tree.

He tries to swing a spear into him, but Tristan dodges and punches him in the head instead, trying to get the District 10 tribute off of him. He doesn’t seem to mind, however, and decides to kick him in the gut, which makes Tristan lose grip of his knife. Both of them then fight over it, but Tristan picks it up, and slashes the District 10 boy in the chest, which causes him to fall to his untimely death.

The cannon fires. The other tribute is dead.
Many of the tributes at the cornucopia bloodbath still are sitting there, dead, as the gamemakers haven’t bothered to pick up the bodies.

Both Tristan and Willow run in opposite directions, hoping to find one another. Then, as Willow is running, she spots another tribute, afraid she will kill her.

“Wait!”, the tribute calls, as Willow’s running.
