Weeping Willow (Chapter 6) – Hunger Games Fan Fiction

We’re almost done! These chapters near the end go by really fast. I’d say this chapter is mostly a bridge chapter between the ending of chapter 5, and the beginning of chapter 7. It mostly includes dialogue, building up some character between Willow, Sandra, and Tristan. Anyways, I don’t want to spoil too much for you guys! Before we get into the story, I mostly want to say that after the epilogue ends, the only posts before late july-early August will be a stuffed animal 4th of july special and a notification when it comes out in the pressroom! Hope you guys enjoy the chapter and visit future reads on The Forest of Legends!

Film (spoilers!)

Story!

Mylo has been turned unrecognizable. The blood is still squirting out of his abdomen, and one of his ribs are shown. He must have been attacked by the capitol’s mutts, who ate him to the bone. He had a sword in hand, bloody, but still in tact. Perhaps he had tried to kill one or more of the mutts, but they must have overpowered him, and they quickly killed him.

Sandra and Willow are both disgusted at the sight of this catastrophe. As heartbreaking as it seams, Tristan still manages to make some sort of joke, although it proves of no use against either of them whatsoever.

“At least we have a free sword”, says Tristan.

Sandra can’t help but shed some tears. She just got to actually get to know him in the arena, but now this chance is completely ruined. Willow, on the other hand, doesn’t have much feelings, and is still disgusted by what the mutts did to him.
“We should probably let the capitol take the body”, said Tristan, knowing that he won’t be there forever.

As they move away, the body is dragged away by the capitol. However, the careers heard the cannon, and saw the body being dragged away, hoping that it was Tristan’s, or Mylo’s.

They hear two more cannons, right next to each other, which means there is only 5 tributes left, and, as they show in the sky that night, both from 3 and, of course, Mylo, have died, presumably by the blood-thirsty mutts. The careers see this too, and they know Tristan is still alive, which upsets them greatly, since that means they have a less chance of winning.

Finally, once the sun rises on the morning of Day 5, both Willow and Tristan finally have a chance to talk, uninterrupted.

“You okay”, Tristan starts out, weakly

“No, I’m scared”, says Willow immediately.
“It’s okay”, says Tristan, trying to make her feel better about her surroundings.

“That’s what scares me, I don’t need to die”, says Willow, remembering that the careers are hunting for him, and she doesn’t want to get caught up in it as well. However, Willow continues. “You fought right in front of the careers, and I know you’ll do it again”.

“Hey look, at me”, says Tristan. “All that matters now is that were back together. We will protect each other”, trying to convince Willow that Tristan will never let her get killed, or almost, ever again.

“I know what you’re protecting”, says Willow, knowing that Tristan is only focusing on her.

“Here, maybe this will help”, says Tristan, handing her Jewel’s knife, trying to help her figure out what to do that might keep her safe.

After a long pause, Tristan finally speaks up.

“I’m impressed”, says Tristan, complimenting her on her bravery and managing to ally with Sandra. “You kept yourself alive without me”, he continues.

“Well, Sandra helped”, she says, knowing what Tristan was thinking at that moment.

“Right”, Tristan says “District 9?”, he continues. “Why would you become allies with her?”, he asks.

Willow nods, and then brings up back the deal they made in the beginning. “I helped her survive, she helped me find you. So far, she kept her end of the deal”, says Willow.

“And now”, says Tristan, not exactly wanting her to stay.

We can’t just leave her”, says Willow, not wanting her to die.

“We can give her one of the packs, it’ll keep her going for a couple of days”, says Tristan.
“But we have to leave”, says Tristan, afraid she was working for the careers the entire time.

“It doesn’t feel right”, says Willow, unsure of the deal.

However, Sandra heard the entire conversation and begins second-guessing their trust. She decides to, however, run off, not bothering to carry any pack or canteen to save herself.

She decides to make a run for one of the careers packs in their stockpile, which has significantly shrunken since the beginning. She grabs a pack, without anyone noticing her. And just as she thinks she got everything, Ti smacks into her, pinning Cindra to the ground, about to stab a knife into her chest.
